Jack Raines turned $6k into $400K day trading when he was 23 years old.
Two years later, he now writes one of the fastest growing (and hilarious) finance blogs at YoungMoney.co. And is blowing up on Twitter @Jack_Raines.
I talked to Jack about his clever writing style and going viral online (recent tweet hit 30 million impressions).
His career path has been “unconventional” to say the least. Which is why I was hyped to chat with him. I LOVE people who carve out new paths instead of blindly accepting default options.
Jack wrote an essay called The Future of You: How to not regret your career in 10 years beautifully expressing his sentiment:
“I found myself entirely disengaged with my work. Beyond that, I saw my path to an unfulfilling future. Get my MBA, work in finance/consulting/banking, make a good salary doing things I didn’t particularly like to impress people I didn’t particularly care about. I needed an escape plan.”
Jack leveraged copywriting for his escape plan. A skillset he was good at, but not yet great. But after writing publically under his own name (aka accountability) his life changed.
Now both his newsletter and Twitter are exploding. People (myself included) resonate with his playful writing style where they can learn and laugh at the same time.
